Huskies
Huskies Youth Wrestling is for ages 4-14 and is focused on the development of all youth wrestlers. Kids of all skill levels are welcome. We promote a positive and fun learning environment. We will compete in two leagues, South Suburban and Pikes Peak. These two leagues are very different but work well together. All wrestlers will be strongly encouraged to compete in one of these leagues if not both. Every wrestler will have the opportunity to wrestle at as many matches as they want. Huskies Youth Wrestling team is designed to serve both beginner and advanced wrestlers.

Time Commitment
Practices begin early November and run through Mid-March. 2 – 1-1/2 hour practices per week. Commit to multiple tournaments per season and dual meets.
Practices
There will be a different look to Huskies wrestling this year.
There are going to be two practices a week on Tuesdays and Thursdays. An optional practice will be provided to all who are interested on Fridays.
The practice schedule is pending coordination with the highschool wrestling but will most likely work like this:
Tuesdays- 6:00 to 700pm, new and younger wrestlers. 700 to 830 pm for older and more experienced wrestlers
Thursday- 515 to 625pm, all wrestlers. Quick high intensity practice.
Friday- 630 to 800pm optional practice.
Practice times will be very structured and at a high level pace. We expect all wrestlers to wrestle hard. Wrestling is not easy and takes a very disciplined individual at all times. Your wrestler will learn how to do this in the wrestling room and it will carry over to whatever they do in life. There is no sport like wrestling when it comes to life lessons.
Parent Commitment
You may volunteer as much or as little as you like. Of course any amount that you can help with fundraising, tournaments, etc. will be much appreciated.
